Sticking to sober living as part of your sobriety is part of the recovery period post rehab. If you are at a good rehab it will prepare you for sober living post rehab. It will give you the tools to preventing relapse and help you set up a support system so once you leave rehab you’re less luckily to relapse. If relapse happens the best thing you can do is go to a support group and tell someone close to you that you slipped.

Even if going into rehab you had a great group of friends it’s still hard to adjust to them once you step out of rehab. While they may not drink that much and party that hard  you will probably still feel like you need to have your own set of sober friends that you can talk to when you feel like you may slip up.

Feeling at home in a sober living home is important to your recovery. While the surroundings at a sober living home may not be exactly like they are at your house they should still feel comfortable. If you don’t feel comfortable it’s going to get in the way of your sobriety. You are going to have a much more difficult time opening up. Therapy and talking about your addiction problem and things that set you off, that make you want to drink is a  big part of rehab. You need to feel comfortable being able to do that.
