The Reward of Sober Living: Participation in an Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Center and a Sober Living Home
Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Center
Recovering from alcoholism or drug addiction is no easy task. For many, the first step is confronting the problem and recognizing that help is needed. Following this recognition comes participation in a recovery program. Alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers offer various recovery programs for individuals who wish to detach themselves from their chemical dependency. Recovery is a process that takes time, dedication and commitment. This commitment is 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Individuals have the option of enlisting in an inpatient rehabilitation program or an outpatient rehabilitation program.
Sober Living Home
A sober living home provides individuals who have recovered from drug addiction or alcoholism with an environment in which they may practice this learned sobriety further before returning home. A sober living home is a stepping stone between strict, regimented and supervised inpatient rehabilitation and an individuals return home. There are a number of amenities included in certain sober living homes such as free transportation to A.A. and N.A. meetings, an onsite chef to assist in meal planning, access to 24-hour fitness gym, digital cable, wireless internet access with private desks, plasma televisions in each bedroom, access to over 100 12-step meetings per week. Additionally, activities that are fun and that help make the individual feel more at home in a real world setting are offered such as volleyball, surfing, basketball, golfing, kayaking, softball, fishing, and hiking.
Sober Living
Once an individual has completed a recovery program, and has practiced his or her sobriety in a sober living home, he or she may finally feel ready to return home. The feelings of accomplishment associated with re-learning sober living are unlike any other.
